Good evening Rockets. A few reminders for the upcoming week. We will continue to celebrate the 12 Days of Christmas dress up days this week. Please see the scheduled days in our December Newsletter or Facebook Page. Monday, December 11th, our School Improvement Council will meet in the media center at 5:00 pm. Please feel free to join us. Thursday, December 14th our 2nd and 3rd grade students will have an evening performance of the Polar Express. The program will begin at 6:00 pm in the auditorium. Please make plans to join us at 6:00 pm. Finally, our Lost and Found Items are growing. Please remind your students to check the Lost and Found area for jackets, sweaters, water bottles and lunch boxes. All items that are not claimed will be removed on Friday, December 15th. Finally, please note that Wednesday, December 20th students will be dismissed at 11:00 am. Lunch will not be served on this day. We hope you have a wonderful week!

As we approach Halloween, we would like to send a few reminders for students. Costumes are not allowed tomorrow at NES. Students are encouraged to wear Orange and Black if they wish. You may send treat bags for students however please do not share homemade goods. All items must be prepackaged.
NES will have a Community Information Night on Tuesday, November 7th at 6:00 pm in the auditorium. Please mark your calendars to attend this important meeting.
The Veteran's Day program is scheduled for Friday, November 10th at 1:00 pm in the auditorium. We encourage you to attend. More information will be shared in the November Newsletter. Have a wonderful evening.
Good evening Rockets! We are very excited for the Charlotte Motor Speedway Field Study. A few reminders for tomorrow:
Breakfast will be served from 6:00 am - 6:15 am
Bus Departs promptly at 6:30 am.
Students will need to wear their Neon Green T Shirts with school approved attire. Students must wear Tennis Shoes. No Slides, Crocs, or sandals will be permitted. No Cell Phones or Gaming Systems are permitted. Please reference your green handout for additional reminders. This trip is an extension of the school day. All School Procedures and Expectations will be enforced. Students should arrive back to NES by 3:30 pm. Parents will be contacted if there is a delay. We are looking forward to a wonderful trip!
STEM Night at Newberry Elementary will be held on Thursday, September 21st from 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm. Pizza will be served. Please make plans to join us for a fun evening!

If your child tests positive for Covid, use the reporting link on the District Website. If your student's transportation changes, send a note with your student. It is very difficult to permit last minute changes through email or by phone.
The tardy bell rings daily at 7:45 am. Please make sure your student arrives on time daily and remains at school until 2:40 pm. It is extremely important for their success at school.
Our Rocket Students are doing a great job at being independent. Help them continue to grow by allowing them to walk into the school independently. If you would like to schedule a lunch date with your child, confirm with your child's teacher and the front office. You are encouraged to join us on special occasions and events for all students.
All parents are encouraged to sign up for Parent Portal. We will have an opportunity for all parents to sign up on Thursday, September 21st during STEM Night.
Make up Pictures for the Fall is scheduled for September 28th. Please send a note to your student's teacher if you would like a Fall Make Up Picture for your student.

Deadline to purchase the optional Technology Insurance (alternately referred to as “Technology Fee”) is Friday, September 1. The yearly $25 cost covers the first iPad or laptop repair free. Certain first time repair or replacement costs without insurance could exceed $600. The $25 may be paid directly to your child's school.
