Don't forget that tomorrow (Thursday) is Pajama Day as we snuggle up for The Polar Express!

Congratulations to our Gallman Step Team for winning the best walking group in the Newberry Christmas Parade! Thank you to Mr. Wise, Mrs. Davis and Mrs. Senn for your work with this group!

Come see the Gallman Gator Step Team in the Newberry Christmas Parade today! These students have worked so hard to prepare for the parade and they are ready to show their Gator Pride! The parade begins at 4:30 and runs down Main Street.

We are excited to announce our cast for The Jungle Book! Students did an outstanding job at auditions! More information about The Jungle Book will be coming home soon!

Don’t forget...tomorrow (Friday) is the last day of the Scholastic Book Fair!

This is an important message for the parents of students who attended the field trip today to Walnut Grove: Due to extremely heavy traffic, the students on the field trip will not make it back to school before dismissal. Students will return to the school by 3:30 pm. If possible, please have someone to pick up your child at the front of the school at 3:30. Due to the short notice, if you cannot make it to pick your student up, they will be taken home by the bus. If your child is part of Be Great Academy, they will go there like normal.
All students not picked up by 3:30 will be taken home on the bus. Thank you for your patience as we get everyone home safely!

This is a great opportunity for Story Time at Newberry College!

With the prediction of bad weather on Halloween, Newberry County Memorial Hospital is cancelling their Safe Kids Halloween Event scheduled on October 31. In an abundance of caution, they feel this is best. We hope everyone will stay safe.

Next week is Red Ribbon Week! We hope to see all of our students participating in the theme days!

Tomorrow (Wednesday) is Early Release Day. Students will dismiss at 12:15 pm. Please remember to send a note if your child will be going home a different way than normal.

Don't forget: If your child participated in our Fall Fundraiser, items will need to be picked up this Thursday from 2:00 pm-6:00 pm from the multipurpose room. Please make plans to have someone pick items up.

Check out this awesome mural that some of our students created with our art teacher, Ms. Lewis!! The City of Newberry is celebrating Public Utilities Week next week. Our students’ mural (along with others) will be on display at City Hall all next week and the from 3:00-6:00 pm on October 10 at Marion Davis Park. Great job to these talented gators and Ms Lewis!

Unfortunately our fall book fair that was scheduled for next week is being postponed until the week of November 18. The company we use for the book fair has distribution centers in Florida and Texas, which were affected by the hurricanes this year, which caused some unforeseen scheduling issues. We can’t wait to share what Mrs. Hunter and Mr. Dukes have planned if we sell over 1,000 books...hint: it involves water! Stay tuned for more!

Don’t forget- Tomorrow, Wednesday, Sept. 18th is an Early Release Day. Students will be dismissed at 12:15.

Don't forget all fundraising orders are due tomorrow (Wednesday). Please make sure that all order forms include child/teacher names and CURRENT CELL PHONE # on all checks and order form/collection envelope. Don't forget to fill out any coupons for the number of items sold so your child can get the prize(s) they have earned!

1st grade student, Amaya got the ‘Principal Taxi’ to lunch yesterday. Mrs. Hunter took Amaya to lunch in the principal taxi because her name was drawn for selling items in our Fall fundraiser. Keep selling...and remember to send in the coupons for the number of items sold so that your child can be entered in the drawing for the principal’s taxi! All fundraising orders are due on Wednesday, September 11.

Students in Mrs. Summer and Mrs. Hamm's Upper Montessori Class spread kindness by putting up kindness posters all around the school. Great job to our Gators!

Our Fall Fundraiser continues until next Wednesday, September 11! Remember that you can have people shop online if you have registered the student on the fundshoppe.com website. Our School ID # is 2340.

Don't forget that Spirit and Pride shirt orders are due tomorrow (Friday, August 30).

Mrs. Hunter and Mr. Dukes were excited to accept an award on behalf of all of our Gallman Gators for being Relay for Life’s Top School in the School District of Newberry last school year! The students, staff and families of Gallman Elementary should be proud as we raised $5,933.73 for Relay for Life. Cancer has and continues to impact our Gator Family on a daily basis, so we are extremely proud!
